Best of Breed Modern Razors: Your List

I've been a regular reader of this forum for awhile and enjoy the members who talk about the more upmarket razor brands. A year ago I would have said I would never even consider buying any of those razors but (sadly?) that is no longer the case. I do find it hard to gauge what most people consider true best of breed vs latest fad. So my question is: what do you consider the creme de la creme in the modern double edged razor market? Not necessarily your favorites or even ones you own, but the razors or razor brands you think are universally considered top tier. The ones I have noted are:

1) Wolfman
2) Blackland
3) Lambda
4) Atelier Durdan

Maybe Yates?

Charcoal Goods series 1 lvl 3. With the magnum handle, the best modern razor I have used. Probably the best of all modern and vintage. Not available anymore.
Close behind is Above the Tie H1 and H2. Also not available.
Available and affordable is the Muhle R-41.

I don't think I can participate. Based on the "vibe" I get from SOTD type threads in this and the DE forum, the most popular moderns are kind of two tier.

The first tier being Wolfman, Athena, Blackland, Henson, and Yates. Timeless, too.

Other than my Timeless Bronze .78 OC, I'm not a participant in that tier.

Second tier being stuff like RazoRock and the higher quality Chinese offerings.

There are certainly more "modern" offerings, but that's just the vibe I get.

Ditto, ditto
Carbon
Atelier Durdan
Lambda

My opinions are based not only on stellar designs, finest materials, and outstanding razors. I have had numerous interactions with all three companies and their customer focus and attention is truly world-class.

Thanks all for the responses. Very informative, as always. Just to clarify: my list wasn’t razors I own or plan to own. I was just pondering what people’s overall impressions are of “the best” current razors or razor brands. Wolfman was the first brand that came to my mind. I’ve never seen one in person and probably never will, but their razors seem to be considered some of the very best. Besides a Lambda Athena, I’m more of a mid tier guy personally. I might spring for a Yates one day.

I would make sure to add Timeless and Blutt to your list

I have 3 out of the 4 on your original list and a few others.

If you take a look at my journal, starting with the most current posts, you’ll see what I have.

Don’t forget about Rocnel as well.

Add to that, Blackland is going to re-introduce Above the Tie razors back into the market place in the not-to-distant future.

Thank you! I‘ve never even heard of Blutt. Definitely expanding my horizons.

The top brand (or manufacturer, in this case) for me is Yates. Blackland has many fans also. I have never tried a Timeless razor but they have lots of fans also. Razorock also has some good options that are less expensive.
