Hand winding... Real old school. Saw a members BST of HMT Pilot ( India) and they intrigued me. Want to see if there are others I should consider

Chinese movement, keeps good time, looks nice, and only cost me about $80 delivered.

A lot of russian watches are available in that price range, up to and including automatics. If buying new is important, the Vostok brand is worth looking into. (not to be confused with Vostok-Europe)
There are also a ton of vintage Slava, Poljot, and Luch floating around the bay that can be snapped up in the $50-$100 range.

Some examples of russian watches can be seen here: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f10/wruw-february-2013-2013-a-811123.html

It might help if you narrowed it down a bit.

+1 on Russian or Chinese Sea-Gull movement watch.
For $100 those are your options. Checkout Parniss watches if you don't like the look of Vostoks. You can luck out and find a nice vintage manual watch for that price too but a lot of time they need service. You can also just save up a few hundred more $ and get Bernhardt Officers or a Victorinox.

Please tell us more about his one. I have looked at it before, but can't source it this time around. I would go back into the WAD dog house fo this one if the size is right.

iirc, its a parnis, I've asked before, as its a great looking hand winder under $100.

I'd suggest you get something that does not have a screw-down crown. Because at that price point, you will be re-setting the time at least once a week, according to my experience.

This has been my fave for a few years now. It is one of the Seiko 5 military models modded with a different dial, hands, and anti reflective sapphire crystal. This can be had for a little over $100.

It is a Parnis. I bought it off ebay, but the seller also has a website I can link anyone to, if they want to send me a PM. Arrived quite quickly from HK, seller seemed good.

I haven't pu;;ed the trigger on anything yet but the Parnis David displayed photos of looks like a wonderful choice. Thanks David!

Where did you get the dial? I've been looking for a white dial for Seiko 5's.
