Best High End Straight Razors?

Hey All!

Would love some recommendations on some great modern high end straight razors, I want to know the best of the best in current production, thank you!

There are only so many modern production “factories” and so many blanks they use.

And usually its more exotic scales, PWS/damascus steel, spine embellishments or blade size driving price.

The first 3 provide little to no performance benefit, the last is very subjective.

TI has their C135 hard steel as their unique premium, with LEs getting pricey.

Dovo’s Bergischer Lowe is one of their premium models with horn and very thin grind.

Boker has a new 14 and an elite model similar to dovos mid to upper tier offerings.

Aust and Wacker seem to have access to similar blanks as some of the Dovo’s.

TBH, anything production and new over $200 is gonna have diminished returns on performance due to what’s driving the price.

Tim Zowada, Brian Brown…best of luck. Can be hard to obtain.

+1 on Koraat

Wacker is always a good choice

…..Down a notch maybe but superb razors nonetheless.

Ralf Aust-possibly the best production razor made. Great value.

Raisoir Sabre-amazing craftsmanship and an edge that will leave you breathless.

In the hunt….
Thiers-Issard is usually a crap shoot
Dovo…ditto.
Boker…never had a bad one. Never had a great one.

Makers like Mastro Livi and Max Sprecher I have no first hand knowledge of but word has it they’re very good.

Awesome lineup and feedback!

Once you reach a certain threshold it’s all about personal preference and aesthetics. The big names have all been mentioned. You will be able to put a good edge on any one of them. Just pick one that you like the look of. There’s really no such thing as the best of the best.

I would also like to add Rigarazor. Not as prolific as the others mentioned, but people who have them seem to like them.

Mine is a 1/4 hollow 8/8 blade. It arrived last week, but I haven't shaved with it yet.

The TI 7/8 Basic Black that Adam sells at the Invisible Edge is outstanding. The C135 steel is hard and may take a little practice to learn to hone.

Dovo's Bismarck and Bergischer Lowe (BL) are also nice razors. The BL has a wafer thin grind if that is what you are looking for.
