Best Face Towels

Howdy!

I am in the market for some face towels that I can use specifically for heating with hot water and essential oil to apply to my face as a step in my pre shave routine. What towels work best? What are good brands and what should I look for in a towel (cotton)? And where should I purchase them?

I have been using older washcloths that are fraying and causing lots of lint and loose thread from being washed over the years.

I use bar towels. While not the thick terry cloth, they are 100% cotton and after a couple washing are soft and absorbent. I think I got a package of 36 at Sams a couple of years ago. Use a clean one every day, and they go in the wash. Useful for cleaning up the bathroom after I'm done in the morning as well.

I've noticed when looking longingly through catalogs and websites at professional barber's towel steamers they often come with microfiber towels these days.

Funny you should post this question. I have been meaning to post this for a couple of weeks but keep forgetting. Not sure if these qualify for "best" status but I really like them. Available at Costco for $10-15. Very soft and 100% cotton.

How do y'all heat your towels? Is it worth getting a towel warmer ?

I heat my water in this and pour it in the sink on top of the towel. Amazon has them for about $50 but I think you can get them cheaper. I use mine for other things too. The wide top makes it more useful. You can put towels in it if you want, boil eggs, etc.
