Best Cereal ever...Rice Krispie Treat Cereal

I had thought they discontinued the best cereal ever...Rice Krispie Treats Cereal. However, I found it online on amazon. Does anyone have this godly cereal still available in their local store?

I haven't seen it... but then again, I haven't been looking for it!

I was intriqued by your claim for the best cereal ever, and it got me thinking - :smartass:

What other favorites did everyone have when they were kids? I tend not to eat it much anymore, but Saturday morning cartoons just weren't the same without that bowl, or bowls of cereal. I also think that opinions will run pretty strong in defense of those cereals if anyone badmouths them! Mine were:

Honeycomb - absolutely wonderful.
Captain Krunch - loved the taste, hated what it did to the roof of the mouth.
Cocoa Puffs - a tastier Kix.
Cocoa Krispies - loved the chocolate milk left in the bowl.
Frankenberry - my friends and I got a kick out the fact that his drawn head looked, well, like a butt! Can't say that it tasted great, though.

Any others? Share!

Count Chocula
A distant second: Cocoa Puffs, now that they put the chocolate back in. It was AWOL for years.
And about once a year I just gotta have my Cap'n Crunch

I'll check for Rice Krispie Treats Cereal next time I shop. How many boxen do you want me to send you?

If I ever win the Powerball, I'm going to have a new box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch every morning, Not because I want a fresh box, but because I'm going to dump out all but the last bowl full that has all the extra Cinnamon and sugar.

Yup, have to fight the temptation to get it nearly every week. It's readily available at the Super Wal-Mart about 45 minutes from here (where we do our normal shopping).

I heard that Count Chocula, my favorite cereal of all time, and the most heavenly, desserty excuse for a breakfast cereal, is now only available around Halloween. Can anyone confirm this?

False. Unless they changed this recently. What I've seen for years is that some stores don't stock it at all. Others only stock it occasionally. At others I see it not quite regularly--not like Cheerios--but often enough. There's a small green grocer here that seems to have it in stock all the time, and while I always look for dust and old boxes, they always come off the shelf with months to go.

Rice Krispie Treat cereal is available at both the Wal-Marts in my town (yes, my small town of Columbus, IN has 2 Wal-Marts). It truly is a great way to start the day!

My favorite cereal of all time is Quisp. It's gotten really hard to find but when I do, I clean the place out. It tastes like Cap'n Crunch but seems a little softer and is shaped differently and it doesn't tear up the roof of your mouth if you eat 1 too many bowls of it. :tongue_sm

Does it get gooey after it sits a while? I like to keep adding more to have a crunchy goo.

My favorite kid cereals were:

Cap'n Crunch
Cocoa Puffs
Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Apple Cinnamon Cheerios

Can't have them anywhere near my kitchen pantry these days, as my only real form of food self-control is to avoid buying bad things in the first place. If it gets put on those shelves, I will end up eating it some night after a few too many drinks or a few too many hours without sleep.

Chocalate lucky charms simply the best

Tough to find now adays, though maltomeal makes a fair interpretation of it.

I ate all kinds of cereal as a kid. I loved Life cereal. Honey Smacks. Alpha Bits. But really, too many to try to recall.

As an adult, I still love cereal. I still enjoy Life (and the newer Cinnamon Life). A favorite is Honey Bunches of Oats. I like the plain and various flavors of Frosted Mini Wheats. Plain and Honey Nut Cheerios. Still, many more. Costco sells a wonderful Kirkland's Signature Raisin Bran.

I am a confirmed cereal lover.

It does get a little gooey after it sits, and oddly enough, I also add some cereal to give it some crunch

Aside from Quisp, I really like Kix, cinnamon Life and Honeycomb.

All this talk of cereal is getting me really hungry, time to go check the pantry to see what I've got.

Because of this thread, I bought boxes of Life and Cinnamon Life, this afternoon. At least they were Buy-One-Get-One-Free.

Afer rereading this thread does anyone remember "Apple Jacks" I just remembered how darn good those things tasted! Do they still make them? Did anyone else enjoy these?

Loved them. I think they're still cranking them out. I know they make a bagged "copy", but I try to avoid the lower cost "tastes just like the original!" alternatives...they NEVER taste like the originals.

Honey Buzzers ARE NOT Honeycombs... sorry:thumbdown.
