Best Brush Shape for Bowl-lathering

I am about to have a brush made for lathering in a very large scuttle. I figure I would need a larger brush, 28mm knot and perhaps a 54mm or a suggested 1:2 ratio of knot to loft. What I am unsure of is the shape. What are your opinions of the shape of this brush that would promote bowl-lathering, e. g., bulb, fan, hybrid? Thanks for your assistance.

I would suggest that you ask your brushmaker. He should know enough about his craft to steer you right.

I would go with a bulb or hybrid bulb shape and a longer handle like a polo or PJ. Or any longer handle with and thin waist. I also use a bowl with a large opening and that allows me to use a smaller handle without clanking the handle on the sides

I would rock with a Rooney Emillion 2. Maybe he can copy the handle. It's very similar to a Persian Jar. If not you can always go with a Polo style.

Interesting that handle style popped out of this thread as well as brush shape. The handle is planned to be longer, 60-65mm, than what I have now. I started with the idea of a Simpson Emperor and imagined it stretched out a bit.
