Hi,
Today I woke up with lots of references in blogs and other news sites to a company called Razwar (www.razwar.com) Everyone was so excited because they were trying to break the Gillette-Wilkinson monopoly over shaving products, with new and exciting stuff. So what was all that about?
The same cartridge razors that we know and see in the supermarket every day, with funky design and with low price. They advertise heavily that their cartridges cost 1 euro each, as opposed to the 2 euro and half of gillette. I laugh at it. If they really try to market their product as "low cost", I am tempted to send my curriculum to them, so I can work ad an advisor and tell them about the benefits of a 10 CENTS double edge blade and what truly represents a low cost shave...
But that brings me to another subject: They are selling shaving stuff, they are not Gillette, they are not Wilkinson and yet they have appeared on countless news sites (at least here in Europe). All thanks to the fact that they offer one of their sets for free (razor + 1 blade) I suppose you just have to pay shipping. All what was needed was an aggressive marketing idea! People who orders stuff from them don't seem to care if it's tri-blade or if it vibrates. They seem to be attracted to the fact that it's low cost... so I really miss that some DE company would pull out a plan showing that there is nothing more low cost than classic shaving...
PD: I think that the offer of free shaving set applies only within europe, but I am not entirely sure.
