Beginner Strop Question

Greetings All
I just received my Whipped Dog package in the mail. I opted for the sight unseen with poor man strop

The strop came rolled up with a rubber band around it.

So my question is this. How do I prepare the strop for use? Do I flatten it with a weight ,hang it up and let gravity take it's course or just use it and leave it alone??

Hang it up and use. If I remember correctly, Larry has "barbers" end. Loop the loopy thing around something, give it a tug and SLOWLY strop away. Keep the spine in contact with strop at all times. Keep the pressure light and the stop tight.

Don't strop before your first shave.

Just hang it and pull it straight to strop. It'll flatten out of any roll quickly.
One thing I try to tell new guys, seeing as I'm still pretty new myself (just over a year), is to focus more on technique and maintaining the spine on the leather than on speed.
