Beer of the Day - BOTD - 2022

More Maine Beer. This is Main Beer Co. “Mean old Tom” Vanilla Stout. Pretty good. I bought 4 and May go back for more. The vanilla is present but not overpowering. More coffee than chocolate in this one which mingles nicely with the Vanilla. 6.5abv.
Must have been a subliminal purchase... didn't realize that I was picking something up that was discussed previously....

"Titus was a wonderful, bold silverback gorilla who led with his heart" reads the promo copy for this porter. I'm neutral about gorillas... grateful there isn't a family group living in my backyard, and I was also grateful that this brewery didn't charge an exorbitant price so they could make a donation to the Dian Fossey Fund. A basic porter. I think I should have enjoyed it at cellar temp, then it may have offered more. Worth the price for a solid pint and change.

Stopped into the local taproom last night to try a few things. Enjoyed:
- Liberty single-hop pils from Enegren Brewing.
- Lunch IPA from Maine Beer Co.
- Tux stout on nitro from Topa Topa
- Ube Macapuno Delight porter from Brewyard
(Not pictured was a pale ale from Bottle Logic that I wasn’t into, which is rare from that brewery as they do consistently good stuff.)

Described as a Belgian brown, this one's closer to a wee heavy. Deep sweetness enhanced by fruit, and a bitter edge that wasn't unpleasant. Another good one from Chouffe.

Just when I thought there would be no chance of finding the beers Hannes (@Multum in parvo) has been trying....

Surprising find at a "sleeper" liquor store in my area. A LOT of unique offerings. Looking forward to trying these. Good value; a little over $3 for a solid pint each.

The Doppelbock was excellent. I'm sorry I couldn't try the others of the line as we had to leave a bit early.
