Beer of the Day - BOTD - 2021

Gonna try these tonight. I am a big Rush fan and just wanted the can/bottles for my bar, but not sure about the 14% alc Belgian style.

This one is unusual in that I expect an almost ink black presentation when dealing with chocolate beers. Anyway, not bad. 8.7%, 11 IBU. The chocolate is subtle, lingering deep on the palate and throat. As a limited release, it's worth exploring.

I'm dealing with a bad cold now. A bit tough to enjoy ANY beer at present.🤒

Black Friday is all about Black Adder! My self indulgence knows NO limits this year... I have a new peacoat on the way, and here's my haul from my Wisconsin run for beer....

Brown ales, porters, stouts, and ales, and I wanted to get more.

I haven't forgotten you, Adam. Stay tuned!

Soooo…
This nitro pour was produced by mixing these bottles. It is delicious! I haven’t seen either bottle on a shelf.

Went to Total Wine the other day. You folks are doing a TERRIBLE job of reminding me that I really don't need to be there; paying customers are about 8th on the priority list... I spent most of my time dodging shelf stockers on ladders taking up the aisles.

for those of you who are interested. Goose Island offering are hitting the shelves, as are A LOT of seasonal beers. Here's one I recommend without question:

I was always curious about La Chouffe. the blonde ale, but have never tried it. This one, to me, was almost perfect. Malt forward, not vinegary in the least, nose friendly, and easy drinking. You won't know you were drinking a 10% until you're finished. Comes in a 4; highly recommended!

I saw some Goose Island bottles up near the register at Total Wine last week, right where they keep Buffalo Trace, if they have it, to make sure nobody grabs it all. Last year, Bourbon County Stout was going for $14 per, IIRC, and I passed.

So impressed was I with the Nice Chouffe, I was compelled to pick up these at a more user-friendly Total Wine:

I have to admit, I'm having a real good time shopping for holiday beers (my little lady wouldn't agree!). LOTS of offerings compared to last year's bleakness. Fans of Xocoveza should look for this:

Goose Island's offerings are floating around $20 for a 12 oz bottle. Personally, I'll pass....
