Beautiful 1907 Single Ring Set. Correct blade boxes?

Picked this one up in the first week of December. Haven't done more than sanitize the razor with Scrubbing Bubbles and a toothbrush so far, so I could shave with it. I'll probably do the tarnish reversal process, as it's a great candidate to make shine, but it doesn't look bad as is either!

What first drew my eye to the auction was the blade boxes. These are what are found with 1905 Double Rings, and at first thinking the razor might be an '08 or even possibly an '09, I thought they were incorrect for it, and I'd pull them and put them with one of my Double Ring sets that is lacking boxes.

When it arrived and I checked the serial number, I discovered it was an '07, and now tend to think the boxes may be correct for the piece (and likely original). Just wanted to see if anyone could confirm this for me. If anyone is interested in the cost, the winning bid was $49.98 plus shipping of $5.70. I'd call that a very fair deal for a piece of this vintage in this condition. Don't think I'd part with it for twice that. :001_cool:

I have two 1906 Single Ring sets, one has the Times Sq case with the Dull/Sharp cases as you do. The second set is the Gillette Script case like yours and has the Gillette/Gillette cases. I have a feeling that in the early days both types may have been interchangable. My 1905 Double Ring in the Times Sq case also has the Gillette/Gillette cases. I'm curious to see the correct answer to your question as well, if there is one.

Actually my Gillette script case may be older then yours. The Gillette script print is on a black leather background. The other script case I have with the purple background like yours didn't come with blade cases.
