Beard assessment

Since we know YMMV, how does one (you) go about determining if you have a soft, mild, heavy, or barbed wire beard?

I always felt I had an ordinary beard, after years of DE-cartridge-DE again I had only myself as a measuring stick. With this forum in mind I have come to reassess that I have a heavy beard, verging on scraggly barbed wire in spots. My dilemma, how do I tell if I'm right? Do I care as long as I obtain good results?

Yes, but this still only gives an answer on a relative scale. Can we quantitate beard roughness?
