bbs with a dark beard

Yeah, on a BBS shave, I still see the roots on my chin and under my nose. But on my face and jaw line, BBS gives me a clear face, no roots.
I too have the Fred Flinstone shadow, tanning helps.

What is a bbs shave?
Baby's Bottom Shave. It's that totally smooth shave that we all strive for.
I just had one. One of the smoothest shaves I've attained, yet I can still see beard. Even running my fingers ATG, it is glass smooth.
I get this on my chin and moustache area but not as much anywhere else.
Same here. I am tan all summer, basically Memorial Day to a few weeks after Labor Day and you can barely notice my Fred Flinstone shadow 
same here. If i try to shave closer by pulling the skin tight it is gone though... but i'll end up with awkward red bumps... i just did it two days ago and it really sucks!

Same here. It's always darker where my beard should be. When I get a BBS, I still have some dark brown/greenish stubble but it's smooth.
I experience this as well. Even with a bbs shave, you can still see my beard plain as day. You can't even see that I'm unshaven until after three days.
Yeah, I've had the same problem for about three decades. Here's what to do: if you live east of the Mississippi, get a dark pin strip suit and fedora, don't say much and scowl a lot; if you live west of the Mississippi, get some jeans, a snap shirt and a Resistol hat, don't say much and scowl a lot.

Yeah, that isn't much of an option when you're a redhead with a heavy beard. I crisp, I don't tan.
