What's new

bay rum

Wanted to know if any guys here get good results with this smell?
More interested in the guys below 30. Does this get good compliments or does it might be seen as too much of an old man smell?
Thanks!

Im 26. Love the bay rum.

when I first tried it (pinaud variety) I went to my gf (also 26) and said "What do you think? Too old man-ish?" and she immediately said "no wayyyy" and starting smelling my neck, giving me a hug, and purring like a kitten.

My friend

Bay Rum carries power you and I couldn't understand, wouldn't understand ... shouldn't understand.

I'm abit above that 30 threshold, but not that far that I can afll into the old-man category...
Anyway, yes, I do get compliments from women around me when wearing Bay Rum, preferrably Ogallala.

I don't think its a coincidence that Bay Rum has stuck around for so long.
You know even back in the old days guys did what they could to enhance their chances with them gurls.
If it hadn't worked, be sure it would have been ditched a loong time ago :tongue_sm

Well, by y'all's standards, I AM an old man, and my wife HATES IT. I mean LOATHES it. Turns her nose up and turns her head and says "Yuck."

Jus' sayin.'

But they are not all the same. If you like bay rum, do yourself a favor and order the bay rum sample pack from Barclay & Crocker online. Some are soft, some are sharp. Some have a citrus highlight. Even if you end up wearing bay rum only at home, the sampler is a good, cheap investment.

+1

I HATE Clubman, but love Bigelow. They are all different.

I'm one of the few under-twenty residents here (I'm 18) and I've received my share of compliments with the Bigelow bay rum cologne. It's a tad hard to find, but it's well worth it! :thumbup1:

18 here and I rock Pinaud Bay rum. No one has said that I smell bad, but no compliments either. But keep in mind I live in MN. It's weird for people to actually engage someone in conversation here. Kinda depressing really.

I like it... SWMBO says she doesn't like it when I first put it on, but after a while she says it smells good on my skin!!!

By Gum, it does me ol' heart good to see some of you whippersnappers dabbling in them old timey scents. I recollect when I was a youngin', afore there were PC's and them newfangled cellular phones, that we made sport of the scents that our own pappy's and grandpappy's were fond of...so it seems that the ol' world has turned and what's old is now new.

It took a heap o' years and some hard livin' afore I learnt that you have to fly your own flag, and that the main ingredient in any scent was confidence. Them fellers that wore Bay Rum with pride and heads held high when my pappy was sportin' with the wimmin made it work, and fine smellin' rooster won't get no hens if he ain't got that cockadoodledo, if you know what I mean.

Now I'm a-looking at commercials for that Star Trek movin' picture show, and see that there is gonna be an A-Team picture, and it tweren't to be a surprise if you young folks started to wearing parachute pants and Obsession.

But if'n you try to bring Boy George back, then I'll have to sink you young fellers like a three foot put, by cracky.

I don't think you run the risk of smelling "old mannish" as much as just plain old smelling bad.

Good bay rum that works well with you smells warm and nice. Bay rum that does not work well with you smells like stench. Sample several before you buy.

Im 26, use pinaud a couple times a week. My girlfriend (also 26) loves the stuff more than I do. Make sure you give Old Spice some love too.

I'm a youthful 42 (or 26 with 16 years experience) years old, I use Dominica Bay Rum and Lime and I get compliments from Gen X women on how I smell.
