Bay Rum Aftershaves and Homemade (

Fellow shavers,

I bought some Aqua...wife smelled it, and said it reminded her of her old basketball coach who had too much BO and used AV as his "cover". She won't go near me if I wear it. However, she likes bay rum smell, and so do I, so it's a nice compromise. With that said, anyone have experience with making your own bay rum, a la The Art of Manliness?

I've made my own bay rum and it turned out great. Although next time I'm going to skip the glycerine. There are also recipes available on YouTube. Just make smaller batches until you get a recipe you like.

Two years ago I went into a Walgreens and was going to buy an aftershave for the very first time. I unscrewed the cap on one after another major world wide brands and sniffed them. I walked out empty handed, shaking my head over why guys buy them.
