Fifteen bucks! I hope you left a tip for the clerk.ah ok thx! I will say this about it for being on the aggressive side it was also an incredibly smooth shave. I picked up at an antique shop for 15 bucks. I'm thinking of getting it replated.

I think I paid $150 for my identical cased Barbasol Floating Head razor, and I'd do it again.
BTW your Barbasol Floating Head razor dates from the early to mid 1930's. One source (Waits) says it was patented in 1932. There's not a lot of info available on the history of Barbasol razors. They were not made for very long. It was at the height of the Great Depression and one person out of 5 was out of work. Many others were underemployed.
BTW twice, I also would discourage you from replating it.
There are more unbranded Barbasol non-floating head clones than the real thing. I have/had three of them, all different.I'm curious. I purchased an unbranded razor that looks exactly like a Barbasol non-floating head. Was there a company that made these for Barbasol to anyone's knowledge? It is a great shaver and the knurling is excellent!
That's a steal...congratsI got one for $40. Great razor.
I did too like 4 years ago. I agree, it's worth itFifteen bucks! I hope you left a tip for the clerk.

Nah, don't replate it...it is in pretty good shape, I just want it to last forever, but I think I'm second thinking the replating now.
yep stop at a place I had found a E-4 fatboy in case with blades, paid 50 for that. gave the guy a card asked him to call me if he got any razors in, I didn't know Barbasol made a safety razor but I knew it was well worth atleast the 15 he was asking. so I took a chance and bought it. thx again to you guys learned a lot about my new Razor.
Blades too? This nifty Barbasol OC arrived today. Not easy to find the shippers for these.
thanks for posting that on....There are more unbranded Barbasol non-floating head clones than the real thing. I have/had three of them, all different.
Only my gold headed Bakelite handled one may have been made by the same company. The silver colored one has bad fit and finish and was definitely made by another factory. The brass colored one was made by Royal Crown.
My first shave I literally skinned myself, I lost focus and technique, but few days later it was great... never looked backIt took me a little time to get used to mine, but now it's one of my favorite.
