Used the Original with an undercoat of TOBS Peppermint cream as a sort of pre-shave on Friday evening, with a Nacet blade in my Super Speed.

I may be changing my morning routine and shaving at work. My plan is to pack one razor, two packets of blades, and some cologne and aftershave in a small kit and leave it in a drawer in my office.

Cream? No room or time for brushes or soap tubs . . . a travel can of Barbasol will work nicely.

The orange sensitive skin and the red original are both readily available in small (50 or so ml) travel cans. Also don't underestimate the travel size red foamy cans, though I tend to prefer the additional cushion and protection found in barbasol vs foamy.

I know the canned shaving creams are horrible but I love the smell of Barbasol and even the Gillette Foamy.

The Gillette Foamy Lemon/Lime is a favorite of many. There is quite an internet market developed since production stopped.

It's funny, the next town over from where I live has an old school independent pharmacy that used to be a soda fountain and currently houses one of the only true diners in our area. Anyway, a friend tells me I need to stop in there because they sell "shaving stuff... Like what you buy" lol. So I stop in one day and see they carry the following items: Chinese schick injector blades, Williams mug soap, and gillette foamy lemon lime. I found it to be a bit too "soda" scented but my wife likes it so I'll occasionally pop in and grab a can for her.

I didn't know it was so loved and so hard to find... I know where they are for around $2 a can near Daytona Beach FL.

I've become obsessed with Barbasol shaving cream original lately and started using it exclusively. I know around here most see Barbasol as the "better" of the canned goo's but still canned goo. There are lots of threads about Barbasol and the different scents, colors, history etc. but I wanted to put it in one place for people who are looking or interested in trying it and for the people who use it to discuss it. I personally use the original because I enjoy the scent the best, I tried the sensitive but wasn't in love with it.

It would be awesome if anyone else who uses it could chime in with reviews and best places to purchase the types not found in stores. Id even love to hear from others who use it exclusively! (Im sure theres at least one other person)

Just a little backstory- Barbasol has been around officially since 1920 but obviously came in a tube back then. They supplied shaving product to American GI's and the products are still made in the USA.

I emailed Barbasol in regard to the Artic Chill, and they said we do not manufacture it anymore. For the Skin conditioner with lanolin is no longer being made. The Extra Moisturizing with vitamin E & lanolin has taken the place of the yellow can. I asked if they were coming out with new scents and the response was tight lipped. Hopefully will see some new product soon. Frank M.

I picked up some original recently for a skip down memory lane. It's still great, works as well as it ever did, and adds some fun back into my rotation. Maybe I'll pick up some Noxema as well, I used it off and on for many years.

Well my experience has not been good.

Have a couple new unused cans (2 years old) from when I was a Mach 3 shaver. Remember, the Mach 3 has lubrication strips which augmented the Barbasol slickness.

Tried using some (with my Merkur Progress) and found the Barbasol lacked the lubricating properties I'm used to with my Proraso and TOBS creams.

Tried it in a bowl with a brush and added water, still very poor lubricating properties.

Someone not associated with Smith's Supermarket pulled all the Barbasol from the shelves. Not even the store manager knew who did it. I bet it all gets replaced with the 7 oz cans. The Foamy was gone too.
