Balsa and felt mounting help please

As you can see my balsa wood is slowly starting to warp, I have always kept it dry and flat, but for some reason it is slowly warping. I was thinking of mounting it down on this marble, so my question is:

1, what should I use as an adhesive ? The bottom of the balsa still has some red oxide on it, I assume I should sand it all off first ?
2, since I will no longer have the red oxide side, I was thinking of mounting a piece of thick wool felt to an identical marble slab and covering it with either diamond spray or more red oxide. Is this a good replacement for the balsa or is there something better. If felt is good, do I use the same adheive as on the balsa ?

As always, thank you for your reponses in advance.

Rather than try to take out the warp, I would get a new piece and glue that to the marble to prevent future warpage.

Barring that, a wood glue, spray glue or even contact cement should work well

just get a new piece at lowes, you will never sand out the oxide it penetrates into the pores---------if you must glue try hot glue, but the oxide might not let it stick--why marble use oak

Mahalo Kent, I think you are right about getting new balsa wood, when Larry gets back I'll order 2 more.

It is probably warping because of the atmospheric conditions, and because it is too thick. Thin balsa works just as well, and there is less of it to swell/contract as the weather changes. Buy a new bit from the hobby shop, and I use spray contact adhesive on mine. Spray both surfaces, wait until touch dry, and carefully stick.
