Badger vs. Boar

My brush stable currently contains two brushes. The first is an antique store find Magna which is a great brush that I simply cleaned up and used without re-knotting. The second is a recently procured Omega Boar Brush. Also a great brush.

I was never real sure if the Magna was a badger or a boar bristle brush. What I can say is that it seems to dry a whole bunch faster than the Omega. Would this be a good indication that it is a badger brush?

Dunno, but my badger brush dries a lot faster than my Omega boar.

I think drying time has more to do with the density of the brush and how much you can spread the bristles. Badger retains water better, but you can bloom it out, speeding up drying. Boar hair is not very bloom-friendly.
