What's new

Bad news on soap/cream turns into a great deal!

Currently, the only shaving soap I can buy locally is Williams and Proraso. I was told today that the store I buy my products from is no longer offering proraso products. I must say I was disappointed. The good news was that they were selling all proraso products at 1$ each. I bought many many shave soaps and a handful of pre-shave cream as I have never used any pre-shave cream before. Does anyone have experience with their green pre-shave cream? Is it any good?

Welcome to my world! I have to get all my soaps (except Williams and VDH) on line.

I have and use the Proraso pre shave, though I'm not yet convinced that it helps my shave. About the time I think it makes a difference I shave without it and then am convinced it doesn't . What I really like, though, and why I'll continue to use it, is the menthol/eucalyptus smell and feel on my face!:thumbup1:

Yup, nothing around here either, you will either have to buy an entire bowl of soap/cream, or look for samples. Such is life.

I use the proraso pre shave regularly and I love it. I buy it in the big 300ML jars from Italian Barber. Great stuff IMHO

I've used the green pre-shave and the grey one (they don't even call them a post shave product themselves any more)

I found both fairly pleasant.

Then I stopped using them and noticed no difference in the shave whatsoever.

The green pre-shave is part of a very good system, especially if you use the whole green line. I have used the Proraso green pre-shave, soap and AS and got an amazing shave.

Why don't you try Italian Barber? You can practically buy anything under the sun and you don't have to leave the house.:thumbup1:

I will definitely be giving the pre-shave a try. Thanks for the tips on Italian Barber. I have looked threw their products once or twice and will be ordering a few things here and there... Wont be needing to order any proraso for a while though.

You must shop at SDM. In Toronto they dropped it to $3.99. Very nice product that will add some cool and additional scent to your shave. At low prices very worthwhile. End result of the shave, in terms of shave closeness, probably no effect... Just adds to the experience while shaving. Enjoy your bargain.

After using the Proraso pre-shave cream a couple of times, I must say that although it doesn't give me a smoother shave it does feel great on my face, and I am sure it will become a part of my regular shaving experience....
