How many times has a deal gone south for you on an ebay razor/shaving related transaction?

No bad deals on shave related gear. Of course, I have gotten a few items that were not what I expected, but that was where auction pictures were of poor quality. But I expected that.

Over all the years I've been dealing on Ebay, only two deals went sour...

1st - Never got anything from the seller... I didn't know, let it go, it was a $10 thing anyway but still...

2nd - Looked suspicious, seller 'disappeared', asked for a refund with paypal, took 14 days and I got it, so that one was good.

I had good deals off ebay so far, considering the number of transactions!

Just once, when the seller shipped the wrong package. He made it right, including shipping -- all I was out was an extra week of anticipation and a trip to the post office.

Oh, and Art is King of successful ebay transactions.

I voted zero even though I did have a some trouble with one transaction. I settled that with the seller and everything ended up OK so I am not counting it as "bad" -- just a bit of a hassle that we eventually worked out to both our satisfactions.

There are always misunderstandings and usually these can be resolved.

Same here. Only once did I feel "ripped off", as in a flaw was concealed on purpose.
Other times I was disappointed, but I had knowingly taken a chance on a poor picture, hoping to pick up a desirable item in stealth mode. It's paid off many times, but burnt me a couple too.

Once I got something that was unusable, but the seller didn't know enough to know that. Once the seller shipped the wrong razor by accident. Both of these vendors refunded 100% of the transaction and told me to keep the goods.

I wouldn't call that a bad transaction. Yes, there was inconvenience, but it was made right.

To me a bad transaction is when the seller screws up and won't remedy the situation.

Of course, the opposite has held true for me as well. Poor pictures netted me two Gold Super Adjustables, a Rocket, and a TV special. So I guess I'm ahead a razor or two.

I recently snagged $11 New Improved and a $10 Goodwill.
Bad descriptions, poor photos.

Depends what you mean by "GONE SOUTH." In my case, the one instance was when I bought a lot on the basis of a poor photo. The razors were all correctly identified but every single one of them was damaged, something which hadn't been mentioned in the descriptions.

I had a guy sell me some blades which he never delivered. Paypal made good on all my costs though. And so I guess from that point of view, I've had nothing go wrong with ebay.

I've only made one purchase of shave gear on da Bay, a SuperSpeed from the seller who uses large dice as display props. I was well satisfied with the transaction.

Oh, wait, got some IP's on daBay also. Worked fine.

I've only had one bad experience. I bought a slim that was described as "excellent condition." I wasn't paying close enough attention to the photos posted on the auction, and didn't realize the seller was only taking the photos from one angle. When I received the razor, I saw that one of the doors (photographed) was almost mint, while the other TTO door had a nickel size blemish where the plating was worn to the brass. It looked like some corrosive material had worn away the plating on that door.

The seller was dishonest, but I also blamed myself for not paying attention to what I was buying. This one bad experience was outweighed by the dozens of good experiences I've had on on ebay. I continue to use ebay -- I just pay more attention to the photos, now.
