The other day, I had a bad brush day with my Simpsons 20mm Berkeley. The hairs felt a bit stiff and though the amount of lather was copious, the Berkeley flow was mediocre at best. The previous times, the Berkeley was supple and flowed as good as any synthie. I had the same happen to me with other badgers, too. Could it be that it depends on the shaving creams and their different ingredients? Maybe some chemical compounds make the hairs go stiff. Or does it depend on the liquidity of the cream? I don't have any real explanation. What's your two cents?

Is it in best or pure? As what i have heard pure will be alot stiffer. Will take time to break in.

I have never heard of a brush, Simpson or otherwise, becoming stiffer with use. Are you rinsing the brush thoroughly after use as leftover soap residue is the biggest cause of brush problems I believe?

You may have soap accumulation in your brush. Rinse it well and/or try cleaning with a gentle detergent.
Yes, agree with above ... is it clean? It just may need a good wash up.

Never cleaned any of my brushes. So like I said, the following time, the brushes work like a charm. But I might give them a clean.
Let us know your thoughts after you give the brush a spa. I am thinking the same as other esteemed members above.
