Bad batch of Personna Med Prep blades?

Anyone using Med Preps here? Two months or so ago I ordered them in bulk after testing them beforehand. When I was testing them they were great. Sharp and smooth and they became my fav blades. However, something makes me thing I might have received a bad batch of blades. It's hard to explain, but one side of the blades shaves as expected, the other one tugs and is not all that pleasant (a bit like using Derbys). I've tried them in 3 different razors (37c slant, R89, Super Adjustable) and I got the same results in all 3. Anyone else experienced this?

I have several hundred of them here and have not found an issue with a single blade

Then again, I got a bad batch of hospital blades a while ago. The first one I unwrapped had a large nick in the blade that was visible to the eye. I sent them back.

Must have been Medicare hospital blades :001_smile

Matjaz, i have never enjoyed them, myself, but it sounds like it you got a bad batch. It is possible. Good luck.

Plus 1.

I don't like them. Maybe you got a bad batch or maybe you're experiencing what I've found with these blades; namely, that they're not that much different from Derbys.

I enjoy them very much, they are my favourite blade. Like I said, one side of the blade is fine and shaves very well. I've had a 10 pack of them before and they were all fine.

I've contacted the vendor where I bought them and I'll see what they reply.

I have yet to experience a bad Med Prep. I'm close to half way through a box of 100. I have had a bad edge on a couple of Labs and just had a bad edge on a 7 O'clock Black.

i use the labs here and there and have had a few bad ones i dont think personna has very good quality control so i dont buy the meds since i know people who have also had a few bad ones.

Here is the response from the vendor:

"Hello,
Thank you for your order. Blades do vary from batch to batch but is not normally noticeable, thank you for your information and we will wait to see if we receive any other comments. We have not previously received any comments at all about this particular blade and hopefully your blades are a one off."

The Meds/Labs seem to get called out more often than most other blades for bad QC. My experience with these blades is inconsistent. I've had both nice shaves and rough shaves. I send a Lab blade to Oscroft to do one of his blindfold tests and it turned out to be a defective blade with one side of the blade unusable. There was also some postings a while back where Personna mislabled the Meds. They shipped blades that appeared to be the Labs in the bulk packaging white box that the Meds normally come in. The unpredictability of this blade brought me to stop using it. 100 Labs for $13 is a great price. I really wanted to make it my go to blade.

I have gotten a few bad blades in DE and SE so it happens. I got a GEM SS SE blade that I could not get a complete shave out of. I threw it in my box of Used and Cleaned SE that I use in my window scraper. The Shaving Duds work great for that job.

My number one blade and like Turtle I have over 200 in stock and in two years have never had one bad blade.
