I received a gift of bacon of the month from "The Pig Next Door".

I would recommend just buying 12 months worth of Range Brothers bacon, out of california. Best I have ever had.

Since I walk by the Kirkland Street store everyday I guess I should go in and take a look at the bacon.

An important point I should have added above. Be extremely careful about how and when the bacon is delivered.

In the program in which I participated, they generally mailed on a Monday through the USPS. which meant, the bacon arrived on a Friday. That's 4-5 days of just a freezer pack keeping it cold. So, you have to make sure to be at home to get the bacon in the freezer.

Another complication - a missed delivery. make sure you authorize the deliverer to leave the package. why? well if you miss the delivery and it goes back to the PO/shipper for redelivery that is at least a day - or more if it is the weekend - that the bacon is sitting somewhere unrefridgerated.

The bottomline on it is that I would never do it again. It is just too much of a pain to keep an eye on the deliver schedule and try to be home to pick it up and get it in the fridge.
