A friend and I went backpacking from Friday to Monday at Kennedy meadows in Northern California. Nine miles in 1,400 elevation gain and that gain was a real steep trail At the beginning. Had a great time overall. We caught fish made backcountry fish tacos. Scenery was just stunning.

we were in a box canyon twilight was beautiful. The pacific crest trail is just to the north of it. We saw lots of through hikers at the resort area. I chatted with a Scottish through hiker a bit Waiting for our burgers to arrive before we drove home on Monday.
Stunning scenery, that would have been a magical week. Thanks for sharing your break with us.
Being a fellow backpacker, you're making me drool! I hope to be heading into the Trinity Alps sometime in July.

It’s been twenty years since I’ve backpacked. I ditched all my old gear. I definitely have the bug now. Such an amazing reward for a long walk .Being a fellow backpacker, you're making me drool! I hope to be heading into the Trinity Alps sometime in July.
