What's new

B&B the fastest growing forum on the planet???

Just looking at the home page tonight seeing we passed 18,500 members!
What is going on? When I joined just 19 months ago my number was somewhere in the 6K region. And now it has trippled!

Is traditional whetshaving gaining popularity this fast or what?

Anybody any clue?

a lot of them are spammers.
Though, if you check out the members list there are only a couple of thousand 'active' members, with the vast majority with only a few posts and not having been on this site in months.

It's quite impressive indeed. I think it was around 11k or 12k when I join in December 2008...

Bit of a shock yesterday when I logged on, went to go into the General Shaving Discussion section and in brackets next to it said 327 browsing.:eek:

I can only speak for myself but I joined cause every time I did a Google search on razors B&B always came up. So I started lurking some and everyone here seemed nice and willing to help. There is just a truly gentleman aspect to this site.

That didn't work out so well then did it? Heck after you paid me off for letting you in you ended up in the hole for 30.00.....

Yeah, but I'm going to make it up in volume.

BTW, I bet there is a pretty high percentage of folks who come by, register, learn what they need to know to get a great shave and don't hang out much after that.

My excuse is that I'm a sloooooow learner...

It's very easy to find a forum for something you're interested in and sign up, but most of the time most people, I think, tend to walk away after a while. For me, it's all about the nature of the discussions. I joined a bowling forum a while back, and after reading for a while, realized much of the discussion was over my head and at a level I don't aspire to reach. So, I stopped visiting. Another forum I stopped visiting because I haven't had time in the past few months for that particular hobby (sleight of hand magic, which can be very time consuming).

I think I'll end up sticking around here, though. I mean, it's not like I will ever give up shaving (the girlfriend hates beards), so why not do it right?? And if there's a place to go for help, product reviews, and to talk shop with other shaving enthusiasts, why not???

Same here. I was looking up different shaving items and the reviews portion kept popping up.

Yep, that is how I got here too.

But even when just a couple of thousand members are active still most of the others must have at least some interest in traditional wetshaving I guess.

I joined for the twenty bucks they send you for signing up.

Man, all I got was a rusty Persona.

you're lucky. I got a lighted fusion.

You mean yall missed out on the Plisson HMW brush with hair only taken from 1 y.o. badgers that have been kept in climate controlled environments and have never dug in dirt, the 2500 pack of the blades that are sharper than Feathers + smoother than Swedes, and the 'Excalibur' of all DE razors that never gives razor burn no matter what angle or amount of pressure you use? man, you guys waited too late!

it's still impressive though. the sheer number of post alone boggles my mind! You throw out a question on this forum, come back like 22 minutes later and have five or six replies.
