Axe Body Spray Commercials

Does anybody else find Axe commercials offensive to both men and women? As stupid as Old Spice commercials can be, in a strange way they make me proud to use their product. Even if I did use Axe, I certainly wouldn't tell other people.

They know their audience. Douchebags think Axe is a good 'cologne' and are also generally attracted to their derogatory commercials.

The only time that I saw Axe body spray work well was to fuel a homemade potato gun. It smelled good, made a rather erotic female sound when launched and the potato went pretty far.

Other than that, I think that it's garbage and propelled by sexist marketing gimmicks.

The commercials are terrible. Body sprays aren't my thing, so I wouldn't use them anyway. Old Spice's ads are better than their products.

Yeah...but sometimes I get a chuckle. I think the commercials are cheesy and tongue in cheek right? Remember we were teenage doofuses at some point? At least I was LOL.

This is a funny article about Axe Body Spray, written by a female legal commentator at Slate.

Thanks for posting that article. I thought of it immediately when I read the original post here. I do think the largest Axe market is young adolescent and pre-adolescent males. Lots of advertising seems pretty offensive to me. Must be what works for Axe's demographic though.

I was very disappointed when the Axe "Proximity" line of deodorants was discontinued. I thought they smelled great and were quite subtle, and that did not cause a skin reaction on me as most deodorants seem to do. I thought the Bergamot in particular was really a fairly true bergamot. The Vetiver and the Amber less so, but still smelled decently.
