lol good to see you can joke about it now that you know you are going to be ok,get well soon bud :001_smile

Get well soon. This may be a perfect time to talk a beautiful woman into helping you out.

+1

So that was you up the Clooney Road to Limavady that I tooted the horn at?!!:lol:

No seriously you have my total sympathy! I have come off a bike or two in my time. You're a lucky man. Take her easy (as they say). :thumbup1:

I sort of know how you feel. I had a serious motorcycle accident a few years ago and was in a lot of pain because of a busted clavicle and both wrist broken. You certainly know who your friends are, especially when you need help with your pants to go to the bathroom. Anyway, get as much rest as possible and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Hey, hindsy -- Count your blessings and the days until your next shave.

You...you can still buy stuff....right???:001_rolle

Hindsy,

My best wishes for a rapid and complete recovery.

I too came off of a horse, as I was learning to ride, a few years back and broke some ribs. Since then, I've learned quite a bit, and the One Rein Stop was absolutely the first thing I practiced after I was able to mount again. Not riding again, for me with a teenage daughter who lives on her horse, is not an option.

Lots a good advice out there and videos at the Google search link above.

Man! Glad you weren't seriously injured! Sad that you can't shave for a few months. Just shave mentally and count down the days until you get that first shave. Best of luck and a speedy recovery.

Just arrange to have a nurse come by once a day for a sponge bath and shave :thumbup1: I know how hard it is to use an injured shoulder.

I seperated my shouider on a toboggan in Dec 08 (AC Sprain, class 2 (gap 5mm+, should be ~0.5mm)), worked with Physio through to March '09 (thier concern back then was making sure I had the range of motion still). Took 09 off from sports and limited my heavy lifting.

Back in Physio again March '10, woke up in more pain without having done anything to earn it. Doc told me it was rotator cuff tendonitis. Physio says it's just that we never really rebuilt the muscles supporting my shoulder. 8 appointments in 6 weeks, we've already made significant progress on my shoulder (rotator cuff strength nearly doubled in the last 2 weeks from 12 & 15, to 19 & 21lbs).
I go back in a month now, just working away on 9 exercises with 1.5 and 2.5kg weights, and 1 with a 3.5kg. Simply working on muscle endurance at this point. Hopefully I can start on strength again in a month after having lost nearly 2 years.

You may hate physio, you will hate the exercises (heating pads are your friend, see if you can find one with an autoshutoff at 4hrs), but follow through with thier instructions. I've been dealing with physio off and on for the last 14 years of injuries (both ankles, both knees, 5 ribs, both shoulders, left wrist, and now right shoulder again). Even the most inane exercise can push your pain threshold.

That sucks! Worst I ever got from being thrown was a slight concussion (some people say that there's still something wrong with my head :biggrin1:).

Speedy recovery to ya!

I've had a few good concussions, and a couple minor. I used to bike everywhere, and drivers here are fairly inconsiderate of cyclists.

It's not the single concussion you have to worry about... it's once you hit 5-6 that it gets interesting. Unless it's something important I cant tell you what I did an hour ago, never mind last week.

On that same note though, I can tell you formulas and information from school 5 years ago, I can walk you through repairing the machines from my last jobs (6 and 10 years ago), I can sit down and repair units at work that I haven't touched in 3 years... Usually working on a dozen issues at once and can give you information on something I worked on months ago.

Can't tell you 100% though what happened on friday, maybe 75-80%. My calander and notepad get well used.
