What's new

availability of palmolive shaving sopa stick in vienna

As one of my wife's colleague is going to Vienna for visit, so I don't want to miss the opportunity to get some shaving sticks from there.
I gained knowledge about this Palmolive shave stick by reading information from the old threads that its made in Europe and one can buy easily in England.

Can please somebody tell me whether it would also be easily available in Vienna. It would be really helpful if someone can locate any store for me where its available at reasonable rates.

Previously I have used Arko shave stick that was sent to my brother in Canada from Turkey who brought it for me to Pakistan. It costed around 15$ for six sticks.

So I also want to try another low budget shaving product.

BTW, Florena is also available in PAK, that I would try next month. Any comparison of FLorena to Arko and Palmolive shave sticks.

The wiki has some general information about Vienna at http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/Austria_Shopping_and_Suppliers - but if the Palmolive is available it is probably too common for anyone to remark on it. I found a mention at http://www.wcm.at/forum/showpost.php?p=2476304&postcount=7 saying the "Stick Seife" is available at Müller drugstores. As with any chain, the selection may vary from store to store.

Consider asking your agent to look for the Wilkinson stick too. For my money it is even better than Palmolive EU. Apparently an Austrian chain called BIPA has it: http://www.bipa.at/Wilkinson-Rasierseife/B3-13020,de_AT,pd.html. You could even print that page for reference.

I can get Palmolive sticks and cream in regular supermarkets here in sweden for about 2 Gbp, i doubt it will be harder to find i austria - probably a bit cheaper aswell.

Palmolive sticks are readily available in Switzerland and I can imagine that the situation in Austria would be similar. Müller is a great chain of Chemists- if your friend is able to find one of their outlets, they normally carry a good range of shave software.

Thanks mblakele. The last two links are really helpful. Though I don't know the language of the links and could not read the details but its great info as cleared by you. I will ask the lady to
look for Muller drugstores, chemist shops and supermarkets (which she will definitely visit for herself). The idea of Wilkinson stick is also great.
I will print the picture for her and will ask to bring both or any one of them which she finds.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot. It would be great if they around $1 or $1.2 as 1$ is apporx. 100PKR so I will buy atleast 10 at that price range. :001_cool:

She will definitely find the Muller store as she has been there a lot of times before. Even my wife went there a couple of years back but at that time I did not know any thing about B&B. I was an ordinary happy man with Gillette Super Platinum blades, a Treet Starline safety razor and a Gillette shaving blue color barber shaving cream. Shaving was a chore and after an interval of two or three days.
Now shaving is my hobby and I want to try every thing related to double edge shaving that is available on earth. I wish it will be available on the Muller store she visits as some times it also goes out of stock.

Anyhow, thanks to all guys for their wonderful help. I will update after her visit.

Tell your friend to go for the Wilkinson Sword soap stick as well. On a trip to Dusseldorf last week I bought myself Palmolive and WS, and I really like both.Having trouble deciding which one I like best.

I find the Palmolive shave sticks frequently at grocery stores in Germany. They are everywhere and usually less than 1 euro. Definitely worth the cash. I've also found the wilkinson shave soap, but in puck form. They both say "raiserseife" on them. The sticks are a bit small, but great for traveling.

Regarding the Wilkinson Sword soap - most people say the version in the bowl is a different soap and is not very good, so stick to the stick.

The sticks are 50 grams, both the Palmolive and the Wilkinson Sword. As for WS: I do not know about the bowl, but I really liked the stick. WS is slightly more expensive (1.20 euros versus 0.75 euros).

Palmolive should be easy to find in Vienna. Every supermarket or cosmetics shop should hold soap sticks and creams and it is very cheap.
