AutoStrop single edge razor information

Hello all,
I recently acquired an Auto Strop razor and would like some more information about the razor from the forum members.

Front plate has Auto Strop the back side razor has a serial number of 878415. On the under side of the blade is "Auto Strop Safety Razor Co". The base plate on the inside has "July 12.4" and below this is "April 9.12" on the left and on the right is Patent Pending.

This is the thread you want. I think yours is a model that has been dubbed the B1 by Waits, produced from 1916-1919. What's great about yours is that a de-spined GEM blade will work in it.
