The Gentile provided a close and comfortable shave although less effective than the Originale if I am honest. Still great razor and excellent result. According to my tracking info the New Flat Bottom is moving in the right direction! |

Another nice Pre-Shabbos shave...
Used the homemade Himalayan salt scrub as a pre-shave, before washing using Harry's Shiso soap
Merkur Futur adjustable razor, set to 2, a touch milder than last time.

Used 3 passes: WTG, ATG, XTG- letting the razor's mass do as much of the work as possible
9/10. Not quite as close as the previous shave, but still damned smooth & comfortable. Figure I'll use the Futur/Wilkinson Sword combo until I decide that this particular blade is shot, then move to a different combo entirely.

I only used #35 on my cheeks and around my jawline, but the edge was as comfortable as I remember. According to my notes from two years ago I used my Norton 4k/8k then pasted balsa. All I have done to it since then is to strop it.
A single WTG pass on both sides, left side first, right side second, then I set the Geneva down and picked up my English Tech for a single ATG pass with some freestyling on my neck.
It was totally comfortable, neither razor tugging or pulling, and a few times I almost checked the Tech to see if the blade was in there it was soooo smooth. There are a few stragglers on the left side of my neck, but it's good enough and Bob's your uncle.
I'm beginning to think this Van Der Hagen(7) blade might just become my favorite, it gets better with each shave.
The Mystery Bowl is a conglomeration of MWF, RR Fougere, and MdC Rose. I find it really mutes the MdC Rose scent to acceptable levels, the lather is wonderful and slick, and leaves my skin feeling wonderful.
The Witch hazel, and "Veg" went on without any drama, and the Nivea balm left me supple and smooth.

We took a speed boat “taxi” from Bali to Nusa Penida yesterday. We toured the West side of the island yesterday, the East side today. If you are interested, you can YouTube Atuh Beach, Nusa Penida and see the steps down, It was grueling but gave us a sense of accomplishment. The views from the beach are more amazing than I can express.
So, after a short nap, I had my second shave on our trip with my beloved Claymore Evolution. There was no hot water left at the hotel so I had a hmmmmmmm less than stellar shower, but a completely awesome shave.
Baume.be cream. SOC Mistura brush. Claymore Evo. All my normal gear being used, half way around the world. Cold water shaving at its finest. The lights here are dodgy but I know the CE so well it just didn’t matter. The sound of the waves in the background and the razor singing. Just lovely.

Broke out the British Aristocrat to finish up Anglophile Week. Great medium efficiency razor. Super smooth. Its the pinnacle of the Super Speed style non-adjustable TTO razors in my opinion.

Excellent shave using the Tech. This razor is so intuitive and so user friendly - I hardly can imagine shaving the wrong way with this razor. Still very glad to dipped this vintage pool and got this fine specimen to boot. I honestly think this is my most favorite razor, even though I love my Piccolo's.
