I'd like to see more options in blades first. Its very unlikely an SE razor is going to be made when there doesn't even seem to be any real demand for blades. Remember, there's only really Merkur making quality DE razors (in the whole world!), and that's a part-time, two-man operation. When you consider DE blades are available everywhere it puts the rarity of SE users in perspective. Of course, in spirit, I agree with you.

I think we're spoiled for choice where blades are concerned. The number of different blades to try was quite daunting when I first started.

What about Muehle, Edwin Jagger, Feather and Pils, to name the ones that come to mind?

With regard to making SE razors, I doubt any manufacturer would improve on the GEM and Ever Ready razors that are easily available and they can be had for next to nothing.

Perhaps you're thinking of DE blades? The SE blades on the market are generic box-cutters, some better than others.

Yes, that makes more sense :001_smile

I don't use my 1912 much because the two varieties I have tried (coated GEMs and Gem Blue Stars) are a bit rougher than the DE blades I use.

What you should be asking for is this:

Will someone make a better Single Edge Blade?

That is what you need first. Get Gillette in Russia, Shark in Egypt, to make a SE blade for shaving. Get Japan's Feather to make SE blades with spines on them ...etc

Now we are talking progress.
