ATT Titan H1

Order arrived from Bullgoose today. ATT Titan H1 Razor and a Muhle synthetic. This razor is awesome. I can't wait to shave with it. It is quite the piece of shaving machinery. I'll post a review from a semi-noob using this advanced work of art. I see now what everyone was talking about. It feels like quite a tool in your hand.
This is my first Stainless razor and I see what all the chatter is about.

I had the H1 Titan (long heavy handle) just like you.

I found that it was a very well made razor that shaved extremely close and I enjoyed using it.

I had planned on getting the other 2 base plates (M and R) and the lighter/shorter Atlas handle but in the end I sold it when I did my big razor/brush sell off a couple of months ago.

I had no reason to sell it other than I put up a lot of razors and they all sold. Oh well

You should enjoy the shaves you get from that razor. Don't be discouraged and keep at it. Being on the higher blade exposure side it may take you a little while to get used to it. You can always get the milder base plates if you find the bite of the H1 is a little too much for you.

This is by far my Favorite DE Razor, it is a well built piece of shaving equipment, So far it gives me the Best 1,2 or 3 Pass shave i can get from any DE Razor )

Take Your time, use no pressure at all, for the first two weeks do a 1 Pass WTG or a 2 Pass WTG & XTG . Just stay away from ATG for a couple of weeks till your face adjusts to this Razor, After that its on )

Great Choice on this razor, its quality is like no other )

H version is/was $40 off at Bullgoose figured I'd get all 3 eventually anyway. But it was a good price to start. I've been eyeing a ATT razor since I got started on this DE shaving trip months ago.
Congratulations. Just wondering why you decided on the H version.

Congrats, nice choice! I have one too and absolutely love it. I also have the R base as well. Like you I got the H first. It takes a couple shaves to get use to it but once you do it gives great shaves. It's my go to razor.

I'm honestly trying to get to my "go-to" razor. As someone still relatively new to DE shaving, I've purchased enough stuff for now. I have a slew of Gillette vintage razors, some more modern razors, a Merkur 39C, this razor, a Weber DLS en route, and a Gillette Flair Tip SS off the B/S/T on the way. I want to stop the madness for a bit and enjoy what I've got and find my go to products. What doesn't make the list will end up on the B/S/T in a few months.

I just purchased this razor from Bullgoose as that discount felt too good to pass up. I was a bit surprised by how sharp the first shave was, and had a minor chin miscue when I must have hit a bad angle. I've used the Muhle R41 (2011) and thus have experienced some wickedly scary shaves, so my second H1 shave was better as I was a bit more careful, focused on only two passes, and I did a touch-up with my Tradere OC (which feels absolutely mild compared to the H1). I'll go easy for a couple of weeks until getting the hang of it, but I do have to say the combination of audible whisker-whacking and almost-call-it-a-wrap after two passes should keep me coming back.

And she's a beauty to boot...:)

Thanks for all the advice. I'll take it slow and find the sweet spot on this awesome piece of steel.
The Titan H1 is an aggressive but smooth shaver if you handle it correctly. Just remember to put the top of the head (cap) against your temple so that the handle is parallel to the floor. Then slowly lower tip end of the handle towards you cheek until you feel blade contact. This should be your proper angle. Using no pressure let the razor glide down your cheek. Take your time, it will soon become as natural as breathing. Hope this helps.

I've now had two shaves with it and it does perform nicely. Yes, it is aggressive, but something I can get used to. It shaves super close with zero effort. The effort comes in paying close attention to technique. But so far, so good. Only one small weeper this morning due to over-shaving a small area above my upper lip. It is a great piece of machinery.

Hope you enjoy your Tradere SB as well.
If I had to pick one stainless steel DE for everyday it would probably be one of the candidates but I decided I'm keeping two.
Feather for smoothand mild shaves and Titan R1 for more efficient shaves. I am starting to use straights more often though so hope the Tradere has found a good home where it wll get used...
