Astra SP v. Astra SS Coating

There was a post here last week on SP versus SS and if one was coated or not. I sent a note to P&G's Astra distributor (Marmara in Turkey http://marmaraltd.com/ ) for an answer and received the below:

Dear Mr XYZ

We are not the factory, but one of the three world distributors who can buy Astra directly from Procter&Gamble. So I am not a technical expert on the subject, still to be helpful I will share what I know.

Both blades have polymer coating, but Platinum's coating is more advanced formula to ensure smoother shaving.

If you need further information, please write to Procter & Gamble.

That's interesting. I think it's pretty common among several blade manufacturers. The coating is similar, but a little better - so we'll call this Super...
I get great shaves from both Astra SP and SS blades. Can't really say I notice any difference, personally.
