I recently purchased a beautiful block of stabilized maple burl that I intend to turn into a couple of sets of scales. I negotiated a price with the company, and they agreed to have the block slabbed for me in 1/8" to facilitate creating the scales. Once the block arrived, it was just that...a block. So now I have a beautiful 1 1/8 x 2 x 6" block of maple burl that I can't do anything with.
So here's my request: would anyone be willing to "slab" the block for me? I would be willing to pay or give a set of the scales (or a combination of the two) to anyone that is willing to help me out here. I can't find anyone locally that has a bandsaw to do this properly, and I don't have the room to purchase one at the moment. So if anyone (preferably CONUS) can help me out, please send me a PM and we'll discuss details.
