Artisan Bath Soaps

I've now finished 2 bars of QCS bath soaps and have really enjoyed the scents and the overall skin feel. I'm interested in trying others and wanted to hear you opinions. Of course there's Mike's, QCS, and Mystic Water and I would love to hear any opinions about others as well; these are the only ones I know of.

I think two main concerns, at least for me, are quality ingredients and longevity of the soap bar. I used mine everyday until they were gone; about 2 weeks for each of the QCS bars.

I've been enjoying Mystic Water's Goat Milk soap. Great scent, though wished it's going fast since I've been using it daily.

I Love my Mystic Water Dragons Lair body soap. Its got a great scent and has lasted me for a while.(I have had mine for over a month probably around 2 or more months but it would be gone by now if I didnt buy the Irish traveler body bar) I am almost done with a QCS Shampoo bar and Im either going to buy a diffrent scent Shampoo bar from QCS or im going to buy the Mystic Water shampoo bar (If you want a idea of what mystic waters shampoo bar smells like then go to a Aveda store and smell some of there stuff I think its pretty similar)

Mama Bear's cocoa butter soaps are excellent. They produce a lather that's worthy of shaving. Next I'm going to try her glycerines.

i have been using the bars from the big ebay seller...lots of varitey of scent.
handmade soap is the search query. about $4 per bar shipped for a 4 oz bar.

If you have a TJ Maxx in your area they have nice scented soap bars as discounted prices. Right ow I'm using an almond scented soap and it is great!

Mama Bears bath soaps are excellent, they make my skin feel great. I just wish they lasted longer.
I hadn't thought of Mama Bears. Longevity is really important for me at least. Do you know about how long a bar was lasting for you?

Maybe two weeks.. I did my best to keep the bar dry between showers. I usually do a quick pass with the soap then use either a wash rag or a loufa to do the scrubbing. I'll definitely buy them again but I wont use them as my go to soap just because they dont seem to last and are fairly expensive (when it comes to soap).

I'm working on a Speick bath soap bar right now and I'm enjoying it. The bar seems to last (a week and a half and there's still quite a bit left) and the scent was rather odd at first but I've come to enjoy it.. it's a nice scent to wake me up in the morning.

I guess MWF (the plain "soap," not the "shaving soap") may not count as "artisan," but Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap sure gets outstanding reviews for skin feel and for longevity on Amazon.

I found a sandalwood soap at tj max. It was from world market and 1 end of the package was open, I guess thats how it ended up at tj max. But anyway I have been really enjoying it and it has lasted quite while with everyday use and me thinks swmbo has bewn using it as well instead of her bodywash.

I like the Spieck scents. I'll have to give that one a go soon.

I would've never thought of that! I didn't realize they made a regular soap. If it lasts anywhere near as long as they say the shave soap does then I'm really interested.

Even a bar of glycerine soap can last weeks on end if you use it right.

1) Keep it on a soap holder that drains water. 2) Keep it out of the shower when you're not actually showering. 3) Keep it out of shower spray while showering. 4) Use a poof or a loofah; it takes about 8 seconds to load the poof with enough soap to provide a luxurious lather to your entire body. 5) Work up a lather in the poof the way you work up a shaving lather, adding a bit of water once or twice (takes about 15 seconds).

Do it this way every day and a bar of artisan soap will last at least two months, maybe longer.
