I'm considering acquiring D.R. Harris Arlington shaving cream and aftershave splash. My familiarity with the scent is limited to a bottle of the Arlington cologne that I acquired back in 2005 or 2006 (it still has the Queen Mother Royal Warrant on it).
I have two questions: first how similar to the cologne is the scent of the a/s and cream? Can I expect the products to all smell the same, or are there differences?
Second, has the scent been reformulated since I acquired my bottle? I have read reports that it got reformulated back in 2009, when the EU restricted the use of oak moss in cosmetic products. (Supposedly this restriction also resulted in Penhaligon's English Fern being changed for the worse.) But I have also read reports that D.R. Harris denies such a reformulation, claiming that Arlington remains the same as it always has been. Can those who have been using Arlington both before and after 2009 tell me if the scent remains the same, or has been changed? If it has been changed, what are the differences between new and old?
Thanks in advance.
