Arlington similar to MWF?

Dear all,

A while ago I ordered MWF and Harris's Arlington refills (from Connaught Shaving). After I took them off their boxes and put them in Pyrex containers, I could not tell which was which... They had very similar color and scent (which was a surprise to me). I had to take them out, as the Arlington had a round bottom and flat top (while MWF was more cylindrical), to label the containers.

Now I've been reading many comments on how Arlington has a citrus scent (nice for summer), but I cannot smell it at all. I got the puck out and now the scent is almost all gone. (It's been about 3 months.) But getting very close, what I get is light floral, still similar to MWF and no citrus.

Could I have received the wrong puck? (The box was right.) There was nothing on the soap itself to tell... Does anyone find Arlington similar so MWF? Or does D.R. Harris make any other soap with a scent similar to MWF?

Sounds to me like you may be dealing with the almond (blossom not nut) scented Harris soap.

Forget about scent, I think the two pucks look entirely different. Arlington has a yellow color to it.

Hmm... Both are yellowish/white for me. Is the difference that noticeable?

It's possible that you have an old puck of Arlington on your hands. Have you used it, yet?

Arlington smells like 4711 citrusy. The scent of MWF is completely different, I can't describe it.

Natural Soapy vs. Citrus. Very different to me.

I agree with others that the scents are quite different. Citrus is very evident in Arlington and completely absent in MWF which has a delightful soapy scent.

Harris almond smells like grass, not almond

No way Jose. Been to DR Harris several times, smelled pretty much everything they sell. None smelled like MWF.

I can't say they smell similar, but I like both scent, especially Arlington, very much.

Thanks all for the replies. What the heck did I get instead of Arlington? (Or what the heck is wrong with my nose, perhaps...) I will try to post pictures, but it will take a while, as I am "in between homes" and those soaps are in storage.
