Arko

Amazon has 12 sticks for $20.39. That's about $1.70 per stick. Free shipping if your a Prime Memeber. Non-Prime Memeber Shipping would be like $3-4. Buying from BestShave is a good deal too but, coming from Turkey it'll take a while.

I've wanted to give Arko a shot for awhile but a) I don't want to buy 12 sticks of it without having tried it and b) shipping is too much to justify one stick. I'll have to add it to some other Amazon order sometime. I'll be watching this thread though... If the right deal is out there I just might jump!

I agree with you Shavious. If you never tried Arko, buying 12 is a pretty big jump. It would be a bumber to buy 12 only to find out that you don't like em.

I'm in the same boat. I can find sticks for 2-3$ places, but shipping ends up being 4-6$. Its kind of hard to buy something where the shipping is more than the item. Especially when you don't know if you'll like the item.

No where to be found where I live but maybe I'll have better luck in Newark, NJ. Visiting there soon.

There's a guy on Ebay, strabotr, that I bought mine from. I hadn't tried it before either. I got 3 creams and a stick for less than $10 at the time. He looks a little higher now but I still recommend him.

a dozen is quite a lot and this soap lasts. Here's a place in Brooklyn NYC I believe. Ship Turkish products from a warehouse. Tulumba $2stick. also carry the creams I paid $2.99 fora stick as I bought it at a local place I believe. or shoeboxshaveshop

Amazon is the way to go for bulk. I took the plunge, and I'm glad I did. $20.39 USD for a 12-pack ($1.70 per stick - wow). I have Amazon Prime, so 2-day shipping was free.

My thought was this: Surely I will like Arko because it is VERY popular on this and other shaving websites. However, if I do not like it, I can Pay It Forward in a big way. My son, his friend, folks here at B&B, etc.

As it turns out, I can do both. I LOVE Arko. I first used it this morning, and it was excellent. The complaints about the scent seem overblown to me, but . . . YMMV. The scent was not super-strong, as I expected from posts on the web, but I can see how some would dislike it.

The scent is neutral to me -- just generic soap-like with a hint of fake lemon. I neither enjoy it nor dislike it. I'll leave it to air out, as recommended, to let the scent fade a bit, though. I'd rather have NO scent, so it does not interfere with aftershave, cologne, etc. The scent DOES tend to linger a bit.

You're pretty brave to buy that much of something that you're not sure you'll like. I know if i were to do something like that and didn't like it, I'd have to deal with an upset wife.

If you have a Turkish or Middle Eastern grocery store near you they may have it.

I don't think there is that big of an Turkish or Middle Eastern population in Washington, but i'll certainly have to do a little research and see. Thanks for the suggestion!

I live in shaving supply no-mans-land so online is my only option for most things. I wanted to try Arko so I just waited until I was ordering other things online and added a stick. I do the same with other low cost items when shopping Amazon, West Coast Shaving, etc. Philosophically, I just can't pay more for shipping than an item costs.

I'm the same way. Pretty much at this point, all i want to try is some Arko and some Palmolive soaps.
