366 shaves in 2024
Shave#223 of 366 remaining 143(100%)
Arko August

Razor:
RR Lupo 95 SB
Blade: Shark Super Chrome (9)
Brush: Yaqi Evil Zebra
Soap: ZM Explorer
Post Shave: Nivea Hyaluron Creme
A/S: Davidoff Cool Water

Another shave with Explorer lathered with the Evil Zebra this soap is just so similar to Arko. They are both shaving soaps, and...

...let's just leave it at that, shall we, trying to think of similarities between the two made my brain itch. The shave wasn't too bad tonight with the Lupo and Shark SC, still leaving a bit of roughness on my jawline, but other than that fairly good.

...and I've used both of them, see I told you they were similar

Blade: Shark Super Chrome (10)
Brush: Yaqi Evil Zebra
Soap: ZM Explorer
Post Shave: Nivea Hyaluron Creme
A/S: Davidoff Cool Water

Tonight the same gear as last night, but tonight represents 18 months since I last took delivery of shaving gear (someone did give me a Proraso set for Christmas unsolicited) a big achievement for me (I'm so glad I resisted the urge to buy a stick of Arko) I still have a pile of gear to get through but I have holed the Explorer again since I pushed it down into the bottom. My jawline is getting rougher so I may need to bin the blade.

My friend? Do you believe it is worth risking the wrath of the War Department to buy some Davidoff Cool Water? I've only tried it on in the Department stores... She is okay with it. She's not too fond of my NEED for fragrances, lol. She's bound and determined that I die a millionaire, doggone.

I've had some Gillette Guards in the cabinet for years. I finally pulled one out to try. It's nice. It's a open comb single blade pivoting head cart. It's insanely light with a simple build. It took more work/time than normal but I still got a great shave. This would be a good razor for a first timer, for someone thinking of shaving their head, or for travel. I think I had to work it more because I'm so used to no pressure and this cart probably needs some. I followed the Arko Cool with Gillette Cool Wave. 26mm Yaqi Timberwolf as always.

Is the Arko Cool available in the US of A? Definitely worth the risk of my lovely bride!

I got the whole line from Pasteur's a good while ago but have not since it anywhere since. A quick search shows it at smallflower and Amazon. Two things to keep in mind. 1) It's a 100g tube, so smaller than Proraso or Palmolive. It doesn't take much though. 2) The "Cool" does not containing any cooling ingredients like menthol. It's more of "cool" scent like AV Ice SPORT. I have "Hydrate" which does contain a small amount of menthol.

Arko makes matching aftershaves/balms for their creams, but I've only seen them on ebay for more than I'm willing to pay.
