Arko August 2020

Tenth use in August:

Preshave: Hot washcloth, Nuage Oil
Soap: Arko, bowl-lathered
Brush: Cheap Boots boar
Razor: Razorock GC.68P
Blade: Astra SP, #9
Post-shave: Nivea Balm, Boots Freshwood AS.

After only five uses, the GC 68P feels relaxing. The covered blade tabs make it a good one to use ATG on neck hair that mostly grows horizontally, without fear of collecting a blade tab nick.

Now I'm wondering if I would enjoy any of the other GC plates.

Freshwood has a low-key scent, gives you a good refreshing alcohol sting, and doesn't persist. Good stuff indeed, Yukonmark.

Which Semogue is under all that beautiful Arko lather?

As for me, today was:

Omega 10005
Arko sticks, pucked
Gamechanger .84P
Medical Prep day 5
Dr. Galen Herbal Tonic
Comme des Garcons Vettiveru
That would be my 620. It has just entered it's lather hogging stage of the break-in process, so I loaded it extra heavy this morning, and what a wonderful lather it was!

ARKO shave #13- Excellent, 9.8/10- DFS++

Razor: Gem MMFW; Gem PTFE (3)
Soap: Arko stick
Brush: Yaqi Sagrada Familia synthetic
AS: Captain's Choice Lime

I got to use two new additions to the den today. My first modern synthetic brush and a new AS. The Yaqi synthetic was quite different than the badgers I am familiar with. It was wetter than I expected, flung a bit when in use, and it seemed to need a bit more product. But, I can see the attraction folks have with synthetics. It did work. The AS is Captain's Choice Lime, which is a nice splash with an earthy quickly fading lime scent. Left my face feeling quite nice.

Cheers, Richard
