That era stone is kind of hard to come by these days. They are great stones. You’ll rarely see a black with that label.

Man is that the one that was just on EBay? Couldn't force myself to bid on it knowing it would likely get astronomical. It sure would look good hanging out with my other Arks.

Big premium for Pike label, condition, rarity and reputation. Old Nortons are cheaper and just as capable......

Just finished lapping my Norton-Pike "Chris Pye Signature" model to 600 grit both sides. I'll eventually take one side to 1000/1200. I've got some Dan's Honing Oil which I assume is quite suitable. Looking forward to using it soon!

My Dan's Arkenstones (6 x 2's). All excellent. The Washita and Soft are used for knives, the Black gets used for both knives and razors (razors post-coticule--truly an excellent progression)
