Aristocrat and Junior

Picked up the 1948-50 gold Aristocrat the other day and today I found an British Aristocrat Junior in the wild

Here they are as found





They cleaned up good, the gold plating is in decent shape although it is losing its shellac coating
The Aristocrat Junior has some plating issues on the handle but the head is really nice





I like the thick solid base plate of the Junior

I'm sure it is detailed on this site, but how did you clean the gold aristocrat. I'm worried to clean mine as polish is not recommended. And they look great!
