ARGH!! chipped my blade! also- stropping a re-honed razor

I just barely nicked my wapienica on the damn faucet and put a very small nick in the blade. (bummer) It's small enough to where I could use it temporarily until I can buy a new one, but, i'm wondering if stropping a blade with a nick would ruin my strop. I can imagine that it would put small scrapes in my strop every time it goes by. Or, I have a secondary razor that I got for free with my wapi. Its a cheap "solingen" german razor that I can tell has been re-honed. I tried shaving with it, and was not impressed. Is it more difficult to strop a re-honed edge, than an original? Otherwise i'm just thinking that it might just not be a good razor at all, and will be worthless to me. Are all razor's re-honable? I think my wapi is 1/4 ground.

Yes, you can hone out the chip. The answer to the strop question is maybe. No way to tell without trying it. But if you can feel jagged edges stropping on your palm (Livi style), then yes, you'll probably get scratches on your strop.

all razor are rehonable (so long as theres not too much metal to remove to eliminate the chip from the bevel)

You wont notice a difference is stropping or shaving once its all fixed up
