That would be a welcome addition. Maybe we all need to start asking for them when we make reservations.
As a side note I have found closing a car door on a knotted piece of light cord at an appropriate height works well when car camping. The roof of the car works well as a table for a small mirror and paraphernalia.

From the number of emails I get from guys needing to replace their strop because they left it in a hotel I would say many hotels should now have plenty of strops to go on those hooks 
Well, if they can supply a strop on request, like they do hairdryers and irons, then that's one packing dilemma solved...

Possibly, but it would not be good for such things to hang from a point like that. A wider surface would be more appropriate.
Captain Hook stayed there.
