I am finding my Bakelite slant much smoother and closer shaver than my 37c. Is this just a YMMV situation or do others have similar results?
Are bakelite Razors Smoother?

I didn't really notice the difference between the two. The Bakelite was too light for my taste. Maybe it has something to do with using a bit more pressure to compensate for its lack of weight?
I only have this old Merkur and I don`t find it any smoother than 42 or 11C.

I find that I am using even less pressure with my bakelite and it seems to perform fantastic. Maybe it is just a good fit for my technique?
