Antiquing today, I saw this AV Bottle in a $10 bottle. It's almost full of Aqua Velva still. I bought it.
Anyone know when this is from? I suspect it's not too old.

I've never seen that bottle before, but going by the bottom insignia it would appear to date from the mid to late 1980s.

That would be about right. It's definitely not older than 1985 and no newer than 1990-91.

Historian? Maybe he'd like to see my nice Aqua Velva sampler. Hey Rob, check it out. I got that for Christmas from my brother-in-law in 2007. The thread is here.
I've used them, but Clubman's my everyday AS. At least for now.

AV Sampler you have a men's Dept store display.
When I think of AV samplers I think of the four 3oz bottle sets they used to sell for chirstmas back in the late 1970's -early 1980's.

What leads you to believe mine is a Dept Store Display? Wouldn't the box have been opened if that were the case?
It has Ice Blue, Musk, Menthol Mist, and Frost Lime. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Sorry no insult was intended it is just you have more bottles than I have ever seen in some ones shave den. I am amazed now I can tell my wife my 12 bottles are nothing to complain about I will show her your stach and be off the hook

Oooooh, I gotcha now. I misunderstood "AV Sampler you have a men's Dept store display." I thought you were saying the AV Sampler I had was a dept store display. All cleared up.
Unfortunately, your plan with your wife might not work. She might pull the "See?! It's a sickness! You're going to end up like that if you don't stop RIGHT NOW!"
Rob, How do you think the AV from the mid eighties would have held up in that plastic bottle? Anything coming out of the plastic into the aftershave or vise-versa?
We'll see I can always stash my stuff under myside of the bed.
