Aqua Velva hater buys AV Musk

Well I thought that it would never happen. Being how I couldn't stand the smell of regular Aqua Velva I was convinced I would never purchase any AV products. That was true until I saw all the posts about how AV Musk was a outstanding aftershave. So today I saw it for $2.99 at the Christmas Tree store and decided to give it a try. Damn, this is some good stuff. Nice masculine smell and it reminds me of an old time barbershop like Clubman. I now have a musk aftershave in my collection.

Still I'm not going to buy that blue stuff.

I grabbed a bottle of the Musk a while back. Usually a weekend one for me since I'm a cologne wearer most of the week. Definitely don't need any other fragrance with that stuff, it's got good staying power.

You know, if you put that AV Musk in a fancy bottle with an Italian name, we'd all be clamoring to buy it at $40 a pop. Yes, it's THAT good!

The AV blue has really grown on me. Initially, I didn't really care for the scent. I didn't hate it, but I didn't really like it either. What I did love was the menthol warmth and the glycerin in it. I thought my first bottle would also be my last but the AV blue as a whole grew on me. I ended up liking it enough that when I had a Target gift card given to me, I used part of it to purchase 2 of the 7 oz. bottles. I think I'm set for a while.

There is something about an Aqua Velva man. Which is entirely true: you could almost say Aqua Velva is to America like Floid is to Italy (or Spain, whatever). Musk is amazing and is preeeetty close to Floid Amber. Aqua Velva Blue isn't that similar to Floid Blue, but same ballpark. AV deserves respect and a spot on everyman's shelf.

AV Musk is a tad too "sweet" to my nose, I really have to be in the mood for it. But I do not deny that it is a great, great scent for the low price point.

The AV musk is on the sweet side, and that's why I like it. It also has lots of staying power. The scent lasts much, much longer than original AV.

I love AV Musk, but I miss the menthol of AV Classic Blue when I use it, so I typically do a splash of Classic before applying Musk.

Glad you found something you like, and at an excellent price.

I gave it a try but the scent didn't work out for me; I had the same issue with the Ice blue. AV Ice Sport, however, is a favorite of mine.

I love AV Ice Blue and Musk. The classic drug store aftershaves are some of my favorites! I do miss the menthol with the Musk though.

Really like the AV Musk. I would recommend it to anyone that likes Floid Amber.

Ive had it. I love musk... and I get a amber from it as well. I got to close to a guy on the 'L' once, that probably put it on for a solid week every day with out a shower. Now when I smell it and think of body oder. I no longer have it.
Doesn't mean it isn't any good tho... Left my face feeling nice, and for the price it has plenty of staying power.

Haven't tried AV Musk yet which is odd as I have both Ice Blue and Sport.

Hey for $3 it's worth a try.

Don't know if I'll buy another bottle but it will motivate me to try other musk aftershaves.

Believe it or not this is the first musk aftershave I've ever owned.
