April 24th & 25th PDX Get Together

I've already contacted Glen (gssixgun) so we're (I) looking to get things rolling again for a PDX meet on April 24th & 25th:thumbup:. Glen is planning on brining some razors (duh), strops, hones, and general restoration items to do some demo's with:w00t:. Thought it might be a good idea to see if some of the local B&M shops that carry a good selection of shaving related "wares" to come and possibly set up a booth or two. I've already contacted joshmpdx here and Gssixgun. If anyone has any interest in being part of getting this set up send me a PM or email. I was thinking maybe trying to get some interested parties together in the next couple weeks to brainstorm ideas and iron out some things. Glenn's given me a couple "pointers" to start with but other than that we're still pretty much at ground zero:huh:.

Thanks,

Michael

Outstanding!

I've talked to Jordan the proprieter at Winn Perry and he is interested in setting something up.

AWESOME!!:thumbup: I was wanting to get over there this weekend (need to pick up some new soaps, etc.). I was also planning at some point to stop by Essential on Hawthorne, first off to pick up some of their "homemade" shea butter shave cream as well as see if they might be interested in doing something as well. There's been a few responses to PM's Ive sent out and it looks like there's a pretty decent interest in getting this turned into a reality. Glen's suggestion was to keep it somewhat simple, wich is great but if there's any idea's for things that people would like to see we could look into having some other area's for folks to explore. I'd like to see about getting a few interested parties together next w.e. for brainstorming so as to get things moving. Anyone that's interested let me know.

Is it going to be a weekend affair or are the 24th and 25th tentative?

There is a shop up on NE 23rd that carries A LOT of the Santa Maria Novella line. It would be fun if they would be willing to come out as well!

It was originally just planned as those two days. If we wanted to try to extend it a little I don't think it'd hurt. Glen's got us on his schedule for just those two since he's driving out with his better half and I think they had some other things they were going to do as well while in the area. It wouldn't hurt me to take extra time off from work but I don't know how much time other folks are going to want to invest in something like this. Also I wouldn't want to run the risk of taking away from the demo's & whatnot. Too much going on and it could turn into an un-organized "carnival" type atmosphere. Like I said though. We'll get some ideas together and see what works.
