Notes to today’s shave:

Opening Vintage April and GRUME with my first vintage razor and the one that really send me down the razor and vintage rabbit hole. The pairing with my @lasta blue handle is fabulous both in appearance and in handling.

First use of the Personna Blue which @Jack Goossen included in a package last year. All in all a nice first encounter.

I kicked off Adjustable April with my trustworthy Pearl Flexi... two passes (setting 4 wtg, setting 2 atg) and some touchups on setting 1 made for an effortless BBS shave. No nicks. No irritation. Very nice.

Unlike I told brother @Guido75 I didn't use the Swing OC. This happens a lot: I decide to use a certain shaving configuration and when I took the first item from the shelve, I change my mind. And change it again.

Anyway: I had a couple of bakelite and polyere vintage razors I bought dirt cheap during my mad acquisition frenzy. They were cleaned, but unused by me yet. So I took out this slant. It has a very curious design. The slanted part is molded in a 'normal' head, but the head is twisted a little too. On top of that, the ridge is somewhat 'hump backed'. Can't remember a similar design: it's like cross-over between a Fasan, a Mulcuto and a non slant. You can understand I was curious.

In short: this razor is awesome. Not as comfortabe as FOCS, but a bit more efficient.
Those using that Fatip now know why I think this vintage strange razor is awesome.
My frenzy was wrecking my bank account, but in retrospect, it sure brought me a fine harvest of gems.

Yesterday Kathy and I did some yard work and started our new herb garden. Potatoes and onions are in the ground and tomatoes and peppers will be soon. (We discovered the Mediterranean Diet a couple months ago) The LSU ladies basketball team advanced to the March Madness Championship Game.
Today our granddaughter has a couple of her paintings on display at a local art gallery and more men's March Madness games tonight. Oh yeah, I gotta mow the yard later this afternoon. We're cooking falafels and rice for supper. Whew!

April showers bring forth May flowers! I picked Petrichor for my monthly soap because it sort of reminds me of damp earth and worms. I haven't used this soap in over a year so it may have mellowed a bit but I was nicely surprised by the scent today! It does match April around here though!

Today the birthday present that my beloved wife gave me arrived: MdC Fougere. To debut it, I put together a dream team: R41, Feather (2), SOC Finest and Brut. Accompanying me in this dream, perhaps the best piece of music ever recorded: Stella by Starlight with Miles, Coltrane, Bill Evans, Cannonball Adderley, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb.

My friends, at the moment of my death I will remember this afternoon and smile.
